That dastardly Barack Obama answered a persistent question from a female reporter by addressing her as "Sweetie". It has received 100 times the coverage of a statement by a female soldier who reported on TV that her orders for Iraqi deployment was for a period of 15 to 18 months depending on when the air strike on Iran occurs. Asked if she thought there would be an air strike on Iran, she replied yes.
But the airwaves, the print media, and anything else that could be used as a medium of communication, instead carried the "abusive" word sweetie story.
There were angry calls for an immediate apology, most often from McCain supporters, and they still come, even though Obama did call her and apologize that he didn't answer her question, and also apologized for calling her "Sweetie". My, my, my, how low and ugly can one be, is there anything worse that Obama could have called her than "Sweetie"?
This country is in an awful mess and it didn't come about because a man, a black man, addressed a woman, a white woman, as "Sweetie". No, what got this country in a pickle was that we sure have proved ourselves stupid to allow a few rich and powerful to run this country for their benefit and to our detriment. And we continue to let them drag us around by the nose to react to stuff like the sweetie story while at the same time neglecting the statement of the woman soldier.
Her story is ominous in that even if McCain's prediction of being out of Iraq by 2013 was well meant, and I don't think it is, the soldier's story means that we will have allowed the rich and powerful to drag us by the nose into another war of death and destruction, that could even cost us more in terms of life, liberty, and financial security than the Iraqi war. And five years from now, the few, the rich, the powerful, will be richer and more powerful, and we, the rest of us, will be poorer and less free, unless we are dead of course.
It will all be in the name of protecting our freedom, promoting democracy, and freeing the oppressed of another country. The truth is that it will be so much BS. Our Empire building direction has taken the American people down a slippery slope that is getting steeper with each passing day and instead of informing the people of where we are at and where we are headed, what should be the most responsible institution of a free and open society - the Mainstream Media, we get the sweetie story.
(Article Continues Below)
Unfortunately we get that story, instead of what should be the real story, for one very simple reason - the Mainstream Media has been taken over by the Rich and the Powerful. We need to take back our country while we still can. We can't allow the few to continue to sell us the snake oil of providing security because if we keep buying in, the day will come that our greatest danger of losing our freedom and security will come from the government, a government composed of the rich and powerful, the few.
Never vote for someone who you know has been revealed to be corrupt, seeks war, and panders to people like Rod Parsley and John Hagee. McCain fits that description and yet our Mainstream Media has been filled with the sweetie story and the Jeremiah Lewis story of reasons that Obama is unfit for the Presidency and yet that same Mainstream Media is devoid of the Keating Five S&L scandal of which McCain was complicit, not guilty by association mind you, he was one of the Five and received hundreds of thousands of dollars from Keating, McCain has not been ripped by the Mainstream Media for his singing the ditty "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Iran" or advocating staying in Iraq for 100 years, nor has anything been said about McCain advocating starting a war with Iran, nothing said about McCain's pastor, Rod Parsley , and his claims that America was founded to rid the world of Islam ( more than two billion people ) or John Hagee's endorsement of McCain, Hagee who advocates turning the Middle East into an inferno to hasten the arrival of Armageddon.
Nope the Mainstream Media doesn't say anything about these people around McCain. You see its because they need to report the important stuff about a candidate, such as the fact that Obama addressed a female reporter as "Sweetie".
We the people of this country had better start paying attention to what is really going on. We will not alter our direction of Empire building until we vote out all the corrupt, war-mongering crowd that now are deeply entrenched in Washington. The time to start is right now, this minute. We need to decide we are not going to take it anymore and then we need to follow that decision up with action. Our first opportunity as a people and as individuals can bear fruit this fall.
