America is changing. Fed up with Tweedle Dee/Tweedle Dum Republican/Democratic Political antics over the last 30 years, citizens have been slowly moving to Independent political leanings.
It hasn't been necessarily quiet, nor has it been always flashy - like the Ross Perot thrust, but it has been nothing short of relentless. And the movement has been coming on ever stronger since the Clinton debacle and has really begun to swell to tsunami proportions since the war in Iraq began.
The secrecy and dictatorial actions of the Bush Administration has brought great concern to Middle America and with the failed expectation that the newly elected Democratic majority in Congress would end the Iraqi War, the Independent idea really began picking up steam.
The central argument of the Independent thinking is that there is no longer any difference between the two power parties. They are equally corrupt. And they are equally in bed with the shadow government running Washington. As a result this shadow government is in charge irrespective of the elected Party. This is a reality that must be changed if Government for the good of America is to ever return.
We all have agendas. I have an agenda, you do, Republicans do, so do Democrats, Terrorists have agendas, The Religious Right has an agenda, the Independents have an agenda, and yes the shadow government has an agenda. What is important is what the individual sees as their agenda. But the fact is, a decision to choose your own agenda or surrender to another's agenda has to be made, whether voluntary or involuntary. Voluntary in that you are free to choose what you believe and have the right to speak your choice, and the right to implement your beliefs, or the involuntary case where you are forced to accept a decision or direction even when it is opposite what you believe and in this scenario, you have no right to speak your belief or to work for its implementation.
The worn out position that if you have nothing to hide, you shouldn't worry about a spying government is basically mouthed by those whose agenda is to support a party, philosophy, idea, or more simply, an agenda that ultimately supports surrender to the those who would impose their agenda on you - an involuntary agenda, one in which you will have no right to speak against or work against. This is an agenda of surrender of your freedom.

Why does a free person subscribe to such absurd thinking? Why, for example, would followers of the Reverend Hagee support the "Christians for Israel" philosophy when the very foundation of Christianity and Judaism are profoundly opposite? The Christian faith is bedrock founded on Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the conduit to salvation. The Jewish Faith denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is therefore by implication not the conduit to salvation. The Bush Administration welcomes the influx of donations and support from this group, as does the country of Israel.
But does either actually believe there is truth in the Hagee message? And what is Hagee's agenda? Has he not stated it is to hasten the arrival of Armageddon? His agenda then appears to be to help instigate a war in the Middle East to kick off events to lead to his hoped for Resurrection. And so is Mid-East war the Agenda of the Bush Administration and Israel although each has a different reason for this desire. But the outshoot for common Mid-East people will be the same no matter the reason, death and destruction. Mid-East people also have agendas but I doubt their agenda is to hasten their own death. They will be forced to live an agenda not of their choosing, an involuntary agenda. These people may not agree to die quietly, they may resist and then we can call them Terrorists and feel justified in their demise.
So will we common Americans, the little people, live an involuntary agenda? Of course that is a certainty, unless we decide to chart our course to our choosing. Oh, but then we run the risk of being named - Anti-American, Anti-Soldier, maybe even Terrorist appeasers, if we speak out against those that would force their agendas on us. You know who I'm speaking of. Those in power. Those who at this time are forcing their agendas on us.
We can either accept the role of enabler of an involuntary agenda or we can identify with those whose agendas are common to ours. Should we choose that common to us course we must be prepared for a propaganda war and in some cases physical subjugation because those who are in power will not leave voluntarily. We have to unite and vote them out. In 2008 and thereafter into perpetuity.
