In my other articles I have tried to identify those personal traits and characteristics, which are in my opinion essential for good leadership. Frankly, it seems that these are evidently not what many in our society seem to feel as necessary any longer. Yet, in my opinion many of these same people are the first to complain about our leaders.
So just what am I getting at? An article in the St. Petersburg Times which I extract some of the quotes from stated that if you have a general conversation with people many state over and over "the state of our union is not where it needs to be right now" and "the country is in such disarray", then why, and I'll ask this again, why do these people and those of similar thinking believe any of the candidates running for President will make a change?
They even go so far as to say they are paying close attention this time and then go on to name those they like out of the same tired bunch of follow the leader, no solution candidates. Those who stand for the very same things the current administration does and the majority of their counterparts do. maybe not now that the tide has turned in Iraq but where were they when? [Read How did we get here].
These people claim they are paying close attention. I ask, paying close attention to what? These candidates even though they may not be in office as of this moment or who might run for office are in my opinion of the same ilk. What is Gods green earth is so hard to understand about this?
If you want to have change you have to have people with a different approach, different idea's, a different philosophy and who is a real leader. One who owns and demonstrates they have all the attributes of character one would define as the very best in an individual.
So, just how do these people ascertain that in those running and they conclude are good candidates to consider? It cannot be on their record because they then could not say what they stated. Certainly it cannot bet on their rhetoric because they support most of all the same things these people are concerned about only in a different order or timeline.
It defies logic, understanding, reason, weighing of outcomes and any other form of normal thought process that one uses in making an educated decision. Why, aren't these people highly successful one might say? Haven't they held high posts in government and business? Yes, but that's exactly what you need to look at. Of course the answer is yes. However, and here is a very big however, are you happy about where they might take you?
Well if we use your own words "the state of our union is not where it needs to be right now" and "the country is in such disarray" just what do these leaders have that's different?
Lets use this as an example for purposes of illustration. We have 10 airline pilots. All are qualified and all have flown before. Some fly a little better then others but they all fly. Now nine of the ten want to fly us somewhere we do not want to go. Can they fly us ok? Well the answer is a resounding yes. However, when we arrive we say, "How did we get here?" Now if that destination is so far removed or creates additional burdens for you then you will really be upset and most likely say I did not want to be here. Yes, sorry you are already there and your being upset is a mute point. Suck it up and make the best of it because there is no going back.
So when we go into these 2008 and 2010 elections you really need to look hard and listen hard.
1- Take their words and apply them to the deeds.
2- Look at their voting records because that is exactly where they are going.
3- Investigate what they say when they are out of the country.
4- Does it all match to what you want and believe?
So I certainly agree, as you can tell by my articles that in my opinion our nation is at a crossroads and there will be no turning back once the die is cast. Some will like it and some won't but sorry too late if you sat on your backside and did nothing.
You see we are into the Global era. That is The New World Order, Free markets, SPP and The North American Union and the G8 economic plan. Do you really know about any of these and how they impact us and especially you? Better yet do you know how they will impact your children and their children, your grandchildren and what it may mean to them? I'm not talking about all those being let in here for our jobs, I'm talking your family!
(Article Continues Below)
You see when we must compete in a world where we have already given away our capability to manufacture, when our leaders in government and commerce have already stated we are a lazy nation, incapable of doing the hard work, uneducated and incapable of doing the technical, scientific and other high end jobs and they have stated already we are regulated to being a service nation and are outsourcing our jobs daily. All the while they justify going offshore and outsourcing for cheaper and cheaper workers and that these people somehow are more willing and smarter. If you can't see this outright then when it is as blatant as it is then there is something major wrong. If you believe this then you are, and I am sorry, so far out of touch then ten books of fact couldn't change your thought process.
Just what does that mean? Well it means we get to do the call center jobs. You know the ones that you work 89 days at and then they lay you off because if you make 90 days and they lay you off they must pay unemployment. You know the jobs that illegal workers are doing in the droves that pay cheap off shore. We are not even at the new minimum wage level as yet and one might ask can anyone really live off of even that? Yes and even these people are working for less and working longer hours for no benefits and these who give them the jobs are "humanitarians". One might ask if you can you afford to give your children a fighting chance to go to college? The answer is no. You have to mortgage the farm and hope they get a good job. Perhaps start our own list of 100 and become instant rich?
You see when you really look you will see a reality that only favors that 20% who own 80% of it all. They don't care who gets it they got theirs [for now]. In my opinion they are not by nature of their deeds that which they profess. If they spoke in truth they would say in my opinion it is all about money and money has no faith or allegiance to anything but making more money. That is the truth of the heart.
So my fellow Americans just sit back and say it isn't so. Just sit there and get mad at the messenger. Yes continue saying how great a nation we are, and right now that is true. However, have you considered the future or does it even matter?
Yes, continue to go out and select them on their rhetoric, the smile, and the "gut feeling" and reap what you sow. That's not meant to be rude or arrogant but just to try and stimulate some thinking. If you're content then so be it.
Now as someone said to me a few weeks ago, I'm sitting in my A/C conditioned home, cupboard full [I better get better locks if he can see inside my cupboard] living the good life with plenty of time on my hands. Just another proof of where we are heading.
So if that is what you want then continue to ignore reality and give away the farm and when the farms gone who knows what?
Yes, I read where Americans gave away to charity over $300 billion. Yes, just plain average Americans. Of course the wealthy give as well and millions, most of which required as their accountant will tell them. So we are a charitable nation. However, we are no longer a rich nation and many can?t believe it. Well ask any accountant what trillions in debt means? You see it is We the People who are in debt not any politician. Understand many give from their need to help others and that's a fact. When "our" government sends help it is from We The People. One asks will there be any We The People in the future to insure this continues?
So we agree we are a giving nation. We give billions to people who break our law to be exploited by the "good'. We give billions to those who hate us and our way of life, not us Americans you know, [does that say something], a free education, a green card, our jobs and citizenship. Yes we are a giving bunch of decent people. However, when there is no more to give what does one do?
When they call you and say "you gave last year" but this year your checking account is zero, what do you do? When you worry day to day that your child can't find a living wage job to feed his family and your still helping and going deeper and deeper into debt, what do you do? When you live in an At Will state like Florida where you have no rights and protection and "that's a fact jack" as the movie line goes and you can't sell even though they tell you your house is worth many times more then you could sell it for, then what do you do?
When they tell you we are a service society and every time you call someone you get an offshore voice, and a person that doesn't speak well and they lie to you about who they are and where they are. Doesn't that tell you anything? They even have your social security number and personal business information but who cares, right. We have "Homeland Security" and you still want to vote for these people.
So yes, these people are on the right path but you better make sure before you go and pull that lever just who it is your voting for and what they represent otherwise you just may be sorry you did? It doesn't matter what one does but together it does make a difference. Let your voice be heard now and wake up. This is the most important election we have ever faced. Look at both parties and you will see a fact. It didn't matter what party those Grand Bargainers belonged to and that should sum it all up.
