The 4000

On Sunday March 23, 2008, the official number of American soldiers who have died in Iraq reached 4000. And, I believe, the official number of wounded has now exceeded 30,000.

The question of which I hear no rational explanation is Why? Why have this number of men and women died in a place called Iraq? What is the real reason we invaded Iraq?

Bush, Cheney, and their Republican hard-core base say it was to protect America. And I ask those same malfeasants, "What threat was Iraq to America?" and the question today, five years later just might be "What threat is Iraq to America?" But it worked and the Iraqi people were going to be sacrificed for blood profits of the War Machine. And of course some Americans had to die. So Bush and Cheney needed something to cover this certainty and smooth it with the people. Some Genius in their administration came up with the sell that to "Support the Troops" you must "Support The War", and support the troops rallies were organized around the nation. And who is not going to support the troops?

The 4000 is not the total of Americans who have died in Iraq, its just the official number, just like the official number of Iraqis who have died is about 60,000, not the real figure of around one million, plus an exodus from Iraq of another 4 million who have left to escape the carnage. So from a beginning population previous to the war, the current population (not counting the graves or empty homes) is about five million less.

And all this for what reason? Weapons of Mass Destruction? I submit that Bush, Cheney, and those Corporations who lusted for War Profits knew there were no WMD but it was a good selling point to the Republican hard core and the wimpy Democrats. It should have been obvious to anyone who could reason that when Bush chased out the Inspectors in Iraq, claiming there wasn't time to verify whether or not those WMD really existed, that all Americans should have realized right then and there, that skullduggery was afoot.

And the performance of Powell at the United Nations was as phony as the "Artists renditions " of those WMD, you remember, the drawings of the transports that carried around the WMD, not photographs mind you, just artists drawings that Powell actually showed to the U N, just absolutely screamed that this case was a layered lie. They began with the lie of WMD, then build their case with drawings and phony yellow cake documents, and more lies, with each new lie issued as a proving fact to support the last lie that was uttered.

And it worked and the Iraqi people were going to be sacrificed for blood profits to be raked in by the War Machine (now over two Trillion Dollars, that's two thousand Billion). And of course some Americans had to die, and many Iraqis. So Bush and Cheney needed something to cover this certainty and smooth it with the people. And sure enough a genius in their administration came up with the sell that to "Support the Troops" you must "Support The War", and support the troops rallies were organized across the nation. And who is not going to support the troops? I submit that the best way to support the troops is to bring them out of the senseless blood letting called the Iraq War.

There are over thirty percent of the people of the United States that actually support the carnage in Iraq, meaning they also support the loss of life of American soldiers, the loss of life of Iraqis, and again I ask for what reason? Since the lie of WMD has been exposed, since the lie of Al-Queda in Iraq before the invasion has been exposed, since the lie of an Iraqi threat to America has been exposed, how can these war supporters continue to condone an immoral carnage of a people and a country, that was never a threat to us and didn't raise a finger to harm us before the invasion? And how can they continue to support the sacrifice of American life for a cause that does nothing good for America?

In fact the only profit from this war is going to the bunch that lied us into the war in the first place. And they will thank those war supporters for their service. Yes these supporters are the key to the war corporate bottom line. Those supporters enable them to continue collecting profits thru a harvest of blood. None of these corporate officers are casualties of this war. It's the "little people" and the Iraqi innocents who are destined to die so that the war machine might prosper. This is what that over thirty percent of the people of America are supporting. And their support is the reason there has been so much death and destruction - and why it is able to continue.

There is profit in immoral wars, for the few that is, and yes there is such a thing as a justified war, but if you think about it, every justified war has on the other side an immoral group who instigated that war, who did it planning to profit by either enhanced power, position, or financial return, in other words, Blood Profits. That is the real reason for this Iraq War. And that is the real reason why the 4000.
