Another sane man walked around a little over 2000 years ago. Matter of fact, he was so sane that the majority of fools who rejected him and his beliefs labeled him insane. You know the rest..... They literally crucified him because he posed a threat to the power structure, or so called ' status quo ' .

Remember some of the ideals he expressed? You know, like " As you do unto the least of mine you do to ME." Or " Easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to go to heaven." He was a man who forfeited material possessions to prove the Empire of the Soul. The ' status quo ' of his day, the scribes and Pharisees, had fear and contempt for him. After all, he was insane to go around preaching that humanity should treat one another like brothers, regardless of color or ethnicity or.... Class.

Only an insane man would espouse that sharing of one's possessions and resources was the model to truly follow God. You know, maybe he was ..... Goodness gracious...... A role model for socialists? Regardless, this is the man that George W. Bush and millions of Christians refer to as their ' role model '. How would he respond to the notion of torture and pre- emptive attack on other peoples? How would he respond to spending the majority of our nation's treasure on instruments of war and empire, while the ' least of mine ' have no safety net ?

Would he remain silent as so few have so much at the expense of the many?

We are living in a nation that has gone totally insane. Super rich CEOs rake in 400 times what their lowest paid full time workers earn..... And nobody protests. Homeowners are scammed and conned by Wall Street connected hucksters ..... And no indictments are brought forth. We have two political parties that are joined at the hip by the same rich donors, or at least by the same class of donors.

When election night rolls along, close to one billion dollars will have been spent throughout this current presidential season. One billion dollars! For those of you who failed mathematics , or attended one of the many ' dumbed down ' schools of learning, a billion is a thousand million. You know what a million is, right? Its 10 times 100,000. Any way you slice it, one billion dollars is a lot of cash. What do we get for it? Half truths, hype, image, broad promises of..... Change, or broad promises of ...... Protecting main street from those crazy Al Queda.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, jobs are fewer and lower paid. Cities are going bankrupt. Businesses, especially the supposedly sacred ' Mom & Pops ' , suddenly disappear, creating ghost towns in once proud and vibrant communities. Why?

You could sit here, reading pages and pages of my discourse on why America has become Amerika. To simplify matters, let us look at our neighbors, or rather, perhaps, look at yourselves! Are you one of those who regularly attend some Christian house of worship? Who have such tremendous faith and belief in the body and blood of Jesus?

To you, and to many others of lesser faith, abortion is the ' killing of babies ' . It is sacrilegious to do so. Yet, what of the ' killing of babies ' after they are born, by carpet bombing them and their mothers and grandmothers and other civilians? To dismiss such horror as merely ' collateral damage ' and move on to '

Praise Jesus ' is but an affront to the memory of his life and his mission. To believe, with such passion and loyalty, that the current man in the White House ' talks to the Lord ' and does works emulating Jesus of Nazareth is outright blasphemy! You turn a blind eye as your own family suffers from this economic depression we are sliding deeper and deeper into.

You care not to acknowledge, or to investigate, how a few corporations have taken billions of your tax dollars, your sweat and labor, through crony contracts with this corrupt government. Then, sooner and not later, you may lose that house, or lose that job, or .......maybe lose that child you love so much in some killing field overseas?

Amerika, not the America of my youth, is fast tracking itself into one big giant corporate fiefdom. As foretold in films like Network and Rollerball , and in Orwell's novel 1984, what was once the sacred world of Main Street America is now becoming Boxstore Cookie Cutter Amerika.

You should know it, Soccer Moms, Nascar Dads and Wal-Mart generation..... You shop and you eat it in each and every day! Then you play the foolish game of Red State/ Blue State that the Republican and Democratic honchos put in front of you. They have taught you well, by not allowing you to learn, that theirs is the only game in town. When sane folks like Ron Paul , Cynthia McKinney or Ralph Nader come along- or third parties like the Libertarians or the Greens..... They label them a meaningless distraction ...... Or........ Insane?

So, you go out and do your civic duty and you pull that lever for an Obama or a McCain . Know what? You get absolutely no relief from your struggle to stay afloat. None! You get words and images and other forms of propaganda and hype. The Fat Cats will continue to rake in their fortunes. The corporations will continue to lobby the two party/ one party syndicate in Congress and the state houses.

The only hope for reclaiming America is for we the insane to continue to speak up and speak out. As tough as it may be, always keep love in our hearts..... And truth in our words and actions.
