"If you always do what you always did, you always get what you always got"
In the last Republican Debate, Mitt Romney was asked a question: "If President, would you get authorization from Congress before you would do a surprise bombing raid on Iran?"
His answer was that "he would have to meet with his lawyers first"!
Notice he didn't state that it was Congress's responsibility to declare war, or that the Constitution forbade his starting a war without Congress's permission. And, he didn't state that he'd bomb Iran only if there was an imminent threat of an attack or only in response to an attack by Iran.
And, finally, he didn't mention that he would get advice from anyone except his personal lawyers. We have had a madman in the Whitehouse for seven years and it will be eight before it's over for him. We don't need another madman there.
Romney's answer has got to be the most irresponsible comment I have heard from any of the Candidates thus far. Bush started a war against Iraq based on lies and deceit, and look at the consequences: Over 1,000,000 dead Iraqis - an historic crime against humanity - soon to be over 4,000 sons and daughters of America dead, approximately 30,000 American soldiers wounded, and over 185,000 American Iraqi Veterans are now seeking medical and disability assistance.
Plus, we've accumulated a debt of over $1 Trillion dollars for our children and Grandchildren to pay, and it's estimated to be over $2 Trillion before we leave. Up to 40% of that money has been going to private Mercenaries answerable only to the State Department and Businesses who have no incentive for a cessation of war.
With more and more US troops supporting an exit strategy from Iraq, it's hard to believe that Bush and Romney - and many others - are supporting aggression against Iran too. This is madness!

Now remind me, just exactly what is the Goal in Iraq? Just exactly what is the Goal in Iran? Just exactly what is the Goal for the Middle East? Other than starting wars and making money for the War Machine, what is it that we expect to gain from our Foreign Policy of Empire building?
So far, it seems like we've achieved those goals in Iraq, and there's plenty of interested parties that appear to want the same in Iran and the rest of the Middle East. The Oil Companies and the Corporations involved in the war will have plenty, but what will you and I be left with? We the People will just end up with more dead or maimed family members and a staggering national debt to repay.
Plus, if the current government plans are realized, we will still have a Government that is ever-more dictatorial; we will have less civil rights, and an increasingly corrupt government.
If this is what you want, you have two choices. Don't do anything, or vote for the incumbents. You'll get more of the same - and it'll continue to get worse.
However, if you want to change our course for the future, vote for Ron Paul or an Independent that promises to get out of Iraq.
Just make sure to run like hell from Mitt Romney and the rest of these warmongers. They're more and more like George Bush every day - and maybe worse.
