It is over a year before the presidential elections are held in November 08, yet the fear manipulations start as early as today.

Apprehension is a tool used to motivate people since cave dwelling times - primordial superstitions were in fashion and fear brought influence to those that understood its power.

One can see the Medicine man pointing out the "others" across the valley as the cause of all this hidden fear, and the fear turns to anger that now has a focus.

Trepidation, insecurity and worry - the three biggest motivation utensils in the negative political tool shed - are quite in vogue today.

The wave of fear garnered after 9/11 propelled the biggest power grab in US history, and the agenda of America became aggressive. Rights were weakened, the Constitution ignored, laws denied, treaties abandoned and executive power augmented like never before. Proof of the power of fear is evident in the United States' reactions, and shift in national emphasis and goals.

We became defensive and isolated, nervous and less sure of our freedoms and liberties - just the mindset needed to control and minimize the liberty of the fearful Americans.

We are seeing the same growing fear we enjoyed at every major election in the new millennium. These include: heightened alerts, warnings of summer terror, Osama tapes reemerge and homeland security chiefs saying they are worried, among other fear-based stimuli.

The apprehension of another national catastrophe looms in the American minds, hints of danger and sudden discoveries of plots that were planned against the USA. All this fear brings a more pliable and willing public, the power hungry Neo Cons love it.

Recently the US Senate unanimously declared that Iran was committing acts of war against the United States, {97-0} giving Cheney Bush an obvious casus belli for attacking Iran. This was the brainchild of the war hawk Joe Lieberman, and his protect-Israel-at-all-cost plan.

Now they need nothing more then a sleight or perceived infraction to open another front and bring the bellum into Iran. Fear will give them that opportunity, and our nervous state will become the springboard for more aggression and death. This Senate vote is a clear signal that there will be no opposition to Bush's attack on Iran - he was given a blank check for unchecked aggression.

We are kidnapping Iranian officials and holding them hostage, we have a strong looming naval armada on Iran's doorstep, we are ready for front number three.    

This entire scenario is a replay of the run up to war with Iraq, funneling false flag stories from Bush insiders to the New York Times or National Review. Then, the war mongers cite these false stories as a cause for war with Iran.

Sound familiar? It should.

We must defend the Homeland; this "Homeland" expression is another stimulus to bring us to the conclusion that it is us or them. Sound bites and mottos like war on terror, surge, Shock and awe, homeland security, bring us to the conditioning of alarm.

Michael Chertoff, head of Homeland security, said he had a "Gut feeling" that we were to be attacked; no specific data or Intel - just a gut feeling. Here is a fear mongering head of Homeland security saying his guts have him in a worried state and nothing more. Is Michael looking to the future when a staged terror attack will make him look like a prophet?

A staged terror event could be used to motivate America, and for Bush to declare Martial law - now that is a scary thought. The first staged event may have been 9/11, and we may see another.

This week more Osama bin missing tapes have emerged - causing the old fear to reappear. These tapes looked like they were several years old, but they do the job of bringing trepidation to a public that is ready for the fear. Strange how Osama reappears almost on cue as the war grows more unpopular.

London and Glasgow have Dr. Terrorist that tried to blow up the airport but succeed in getting arrested - nothing more.

Warnings of Al Qaeda activities are coming in again with nervous regularity, and the stage is set for the fear machine to bring great events and change to the distracted Americans.

Are we to fall for more of these shenanigans, or are we finally going to see the machinations of the powerful Neo Cons?

Is America ready to awaken to the manipulations and propaganda stories on FOX news, and administration liars that spread fear like old manure?

Or are we to go the way of the citizens of Germany in the 1930s who did not probe or ask why, but fell in line to contrived lies taunted by fear?

America it's up to you. When the latest shoe drops and the fear is ratcheted up, will we fold again or stand up to tyranny?
