Charles Rangel has been censure by The House Ethics committee for his act in leaving the meeting without any reason, and helping fund rising for the City College of New York. His innocent behavior after the incident make it worst.
Rangel has been asked to resign because of his guilty violation as found by the Ethic committee. There will be no open door for him as staff counsel has made censure recommendation to the committee which has been finished.
The recommendation declares to the committee based on Rangel’s action in broken the ethic rules. He apologize by saying, “They will continue to call me a crook and call me corrupt. … This member is not corrupt, and there is no excuse for my behavior. … I never intended to enrich myself … I apologize for any embarrassment I have caused you individually.”
To support his story Rangel as the committee to call the witnesses as he asked help by the City College of New York whose came to him first for money rising.
He also added in his argumentation that he never had a mine to hide something from the congress or even IRS, this all just clumsiness for not including the assets and income on the disclosure.
