Without question, the administration's catastrophic war in Iraq is the single overarching issue that has convinced a large majority of Americans that the country is "heading in the wrong direction."
But the war itself is the outcome of an imperial presidency and the abject failure of Congress to perform its Constitutional duty of oversight. Had the government been working as the authors of the Constitution intended, the war could not have occurred.
Even now, the Democratic majority remains reluctant to use its power of the purse to cut off funding for the war, thereby ending the American occupation of Iraq and starting to curtail the ever-growing power of the military-industrial complex....

Just a quick note on updating the website.
We're working on implementing a user comment system for PopulistAmerica.com.
It's going a bit slower than we had hoped, and we're striving for a solution that will be both benefical to you and not too much of a strain on our web servers.
In the coming months, we'll be testing out a few different comment systems, and may try out a third-party system as well. We hope the final result will be something that will work well for everyone.
We're always looking for new ideas on how to improve the website, grow the party and more.

Commentary by new contributor, Cliff Carson.
How does an immoral war become a moral war? The answer is simple - Propaganda/spin. And certainly we should not forget the enablers and the profiteers. They prop up the spin either through ignorance or because of their personal agenda. The big news nowadays is the debate over whether to "stay the course" or impose "benchmarks". Hear much lately about the war's cost to Iraq? That country has been devastated by a war brought on by lies and deception. Yes the big debate now is who is the most moral - the ones who started the immoral war (Republicans) or the ones who want to end it (Democrats). My what a metamorphosis!
And what has happened to Iraq? Both the Republicans and the Democrats blame them for not being able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again! Just to illustrate what has happened to this innocent people, consider the following: My Uncle Glynn, who at 94 is still very mentally alert, and I, late one cold moonless night this past winter were at a family gathering and stepped outside to admire the brilliant night sky.
