 Naming Names

March 6, 2007

A couple of years ago the names of seventeen families who had spent billions of dollars lobbying to repeal the estate tax for the past ten years was published.  Not surprisingly, the MSM didn't cover this story.  To refresh our collective memories, here's a list of the uber rich who re-named the tax, and brought the issue to the attention of our "representatives" in Washington.

1. The Allyn-Soderberg Family (Welch-Allyn Inc.)

2. The Blethyn Family (Seattle Times, Maine real estate and newspapers)

3. The Cox Family (Cox Enterprises)

4. DeVos & Van Andel Families (Alticor/Amway)

5. The Dorrance Family (Campbell Soup)

6. The Gallo Family (E & J Gallo)

7. The Harbert Family

8. The Johnson Family (BET, RLJ Development)

9. The Koch Family (pronounced "Coke") (Koch Industries)

10. The Mars Family (Mars Inc., chocolate)

11. The Mayer Family (Captiva Resources)

12. The Nordstrom Family (Nordstrom, Inc.)

13. The Sobrato Family (Sobrato Development)

14. The Stephens family (Stephens, Inc.)

15. The Timken Family (The Timken Co.)

16. The Walton Family (Walmart)

17. The Wegman Family (Wegman Food Markets)

Looking after their best interests, wouldn't you do the same if you were in their position? Besides, by repealing the estate tax, all those family farms would be saved.  Actually, zero farms were lost, or at risk of being lost.  This tax was designed to prevent the formation of dynasties, the royal classes, the leisure classes that America ostensibly doesn't have.

The above-mentioned families are the tip of the iceberg, the interlocking web of elite policy- making institutes, connections to the Department of Defense and it's contractors, the World Bank, ownership of the media, control of the three major companies implementing the new electronic voting machines, their PR groups (Hill and Knowlton, The Rendon Group), the think tanks whose "experts" are presented on MSM as unbiased, truthful individuals; their control of the issues we discuss, how these issues are framed, and how our money is spent.  Especially how our money is spent, whether our tax dollars or discretionary income.

I've been fortunate to escape the living hell that is the suburbs.  Living in a small town, a walkable community where recreational shopping is unknown, "going to the mall" is no longer my daughter's primary source of weekend escape from the suburbs, and I've discovered  the liberation that comes from shedding consumerism.  We can all, at the very least, reject and/or reduce the amount of crap we buy.   Since usury became acceptable and legal, simultaneous with the changes in the bankruptcy laws that will keep us debt slaves from cradle to grave, avoiding debt and credit cards should be our first priority.  Of course, that playing field is not level by design.  If you have no health insurance, or inadequate coverage, you will use credit cards to pay medical bills.  If your mortgage balloons, ditto.  A family member needs financial help, any unexpected expense can set in motion a downward spiral from which you'll not be given a chance to start afresh.  The timing of this legislation, of course, is purely coincidental.

The real owners of this country number many, many more than the seventeen families.  In future columns I'll outline more of the incestuous, self-perpetuating web of control these parasites have woven.  The Class War is real.  It isn't doctors, lawyers, small business owners vs. blue collar workers or the poor.  If you work, you are not a member of the leisure class.  If you have a mortgage or pay rent, if you fly commercial airlines rather than a private jet , you are not wealthy. Their wealth is about living a life of recreation on a global scale, their wealth is a more powerful tool and weapon than any middle or upper class American can fathom.  The selfishness and greed of these Parasite Elite, their utter lack of loyalty or patriotism distinguishes them from us.

Our "government" is owned by them.  Revolution, anyone?
