Its that time when our elected representatives tell us what they have done for us.
Well it now time for all those smiling people to be seen on the media news and in the newspapers to tell us just what they have done for us and what they will do for us. Regardless of what party, in my opinion you have no real diversity. In my opinion if you think they have done a good job then you are in most probability part of that social group which is in the top 20% of the wealthier in this state and nation. Of course in Florida's case that number may be higher. However, this article is addressed strictly toward average Americans everywhere. Those fighting the wars, struggling to survive, afraid of what the next day will bring!
So here is a list of what they supposedly have done for us so we can consider voting for them on election day.
1- Iraq- Do you think our leaders have handled this war well?
2- Immigration- do you think illegal amnesty and reward is a good thing?
3- Have your taxes gone down or up?
4- What about your homeowners insurance, is it up or down?
5- What has your raise or bonus gotten you in extra spending income?
6- How are your job benefits, better or worse and have they actually reduced you net take home?
7- Do you have health coverage or are you one of those who haven?t any?
8- Can you afford to send your children to college and can you get help from the government?
9- Are working two or three jobs just to survive and do you even have a job if your over 50?
10 Do you think you can retire at 62 and how much will you have to live on?
11- Are you able to save and invest?
12 How do you pay your electric, gas or other utility bills, cash, credit or delayed?
13- How about off shore jobs? Have they impacted you?
14- Were you laid off recently and took a big pay cut just to work?
15- Is your credit card paid or is it going up?
16- Are you thinking of selling and moving just to survive?
(Article Continues Below)
Well if you can answer that you are happy and all of the above and they do not impact you then you will continue to vote for those who promote your interests. However, if you have a problem with any of the above then it is about time to get the broom out and sweep every incumbent out of office that contributed by vote or support to the causes above which impacted you. Yes, it is time to make a change.
Now certainly we may not be any better off but it will send a message LOUD and CLEAR as to what type of leaders we want to promote our interests! In my opinion, to stay home and do nothing is equivalent of a mandate to do more of the same. Remember if it says incumbent or they are endorsed by a sitting politician vote the other way or at least for the closest to your opinion. Remember, both major parties will tell you what you want to hear and then do the opposite once elected. Their record is what speaks for itself ! Where you can go with a third party!
Well November 2006 and 2008 can be a win for average Americans, we can get more of the same but at least we gave it a try.
