Meet the Shministim, Israeli youths who have denied their government right to use them as slaves and fodder for war-making or war-preparation. "Selective service" as we call it here in the United States, or "Civilian Service" program as Obama and Rahm like to refer to it starting on January 20th, is simply modern slavery, no different at its heart than that of antiquity or Civil War-era times, whether the slaves are used for war or for providing work. I explained here in more detail my statement against Obama on his support of a military draft back in July of last year. (photos)
The Shministim claim that there are two huge lies in progress:
- Israel is "defending" itself against the Palestinians
- All Israelis support their government's policy of endless war against Palestinian civilians.
On the first point, just look at the causalities. Israel at best has a handful dead from rockets. This AP article has Israeli rescue services claiming 48 Israelis wounded, mostly with "light injuries." The Palestinians are being dive-bombed and slaughtered, with over 400 dead and close to 2,000 wounded. Even when if one assumes there is legitimate Palestinian instigation (and there likely is), guess who is on the "defensive" side here? As Jahfre Fire Eater reported in his article "Pay-Per-View War?", the Israeli Defense Forces have started a YouTube channel with footage of Palestinian insurgents getting killed. I dare them to show all 2,400 casualities.
On the second point, the Shministim's very existence proves that individuals like you and I can be slaughtered, but freedom can never die.

If you want, join a Facebook group here, over 3,000 strong of mostly college-aged Americans, who are Obama's choice of cannon fodder, probably second only to new immigrants.

America, what's going to be? It's time to pick sides. Slavery or freedom? A cowed state of fear or liberty? The choice is really that stark. Or has the rot in your head, the rot in the Republic sunk too deep?
The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.
