iPod Touch With VLC Media Player Copyright Infringement

VLC media player’s core developers Rémi Denis-Courmont has notified a formal letter to Apple in term of copyright infringements. As we can find their Software Application on Apple’s products such as iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone.

Rémi Denis-Courmont said,” VLC is free software, licensed solely under the terms of the GNU General Public Licence,”

He also added, “Those terms are contradicted by products usage rules of the AppStore through which Apple delivers applications to users of its mobile devices.

“At the time of writing (October 27, AEST) the infringing application is still available. However, it is to be expected that Apple will cease distribution soon.”

As the company send a formal notification letter, Apple is stopping the distribution of GNU Go Application. The company with bitten apple logo is try to abide the GPL terms and condition, it said that if every application are redistributed then automatically the recipient will get copy of license from the VLC media player, same thing happen with any modification of the software.
