"Councils of war breed timidity and fear"
- Gen Douglas MacArthur, Inchon. Korea.
War is not pretty, and if you ever fought or not, it does not matter. It is, besides murder, one of the most brutal aspects of mankind. That said, it is not if you have ever served, fought or not. It is about how to avoid or end wars. To that end I wrote this article.
Just prior to the landing at Inchon in Korea, almost every member of Congress and the president distanced themselves from General MacArthur because they felt it would be a disaster. They even called him on his flagship to reiterate it to him. That says volumes about their true intentions and commitment. One must keep in mind that prior to the planning and up until the actual time there was limited dissent. Only after it became one of the most spectacular episodes in military history did they all jump on the bandwagon.
Another great statement was "there is no substitute for victory", also General MacArthur. Now one does not have to like the person, his politics or anything else. But one does have to recognize the greatness of the man.
These two statements were, in my opinion, God inspired. You see General MacArthur was a man of deep religious conviction, as are most great leaders. Now these two statements have resonated with propounding truth since stated. They have been repeated over and over again since Korea in every conflict we have involved ourselves in. That is either substantial or limited, like Somalia or Lebanon.
We are now mired in another conflict in Iraq. The appeasers are gathering like the vultures because they sense the American people are tired of the war and they are right. Others support the President's approach. However, in my opinion, this is either a planned approach or the people in Washington have lost touch with the reality of the average man. I prefer to lean toward the latter.
They are the "councils of war" of today. Now in the interest of the new Global vision and the supposed "alliance of other nations", [a joke of immense proportions in my opinion, save a few nations] they have sacrificed our military and all but dismantled our industrial might.
The truth be said we did not "win," we settled on the cheap war. We did not go in with overwhelming force, we once again handicapped our troops for political expediency, we thought of the Global aspects rather then the blood and death and victory and we are still basing all of our decisions on that ideology even now.
(Article Continues Below)
The facts are there, they have been repeated and repeated over and over again. While I do believe we currently have a technological edge, I find it hard that China, who has assumed industrial power and gained our technology, and has a massive military, which no one asks why and India who is slowly becoming similar and those other countries we export our capabilities and educate their citizens will someday soon be the real power if not close to it now. Hopefully we have these secret weapons everyone thinks we have hidden somewhere so that we don't need boots anymore.
Rhetorically, one wonder's just what is taking place in America? Certainly these are not dumb people or can they really be that incompetent? Americans, when they say we are going to war, expect victory. It doesn't mean we showed up and now we can go home. If "overwhelming force" is the answer to total victory then just what the heck are they debating in the ivory halls of Congress? Why do they fight wars piecemeal?
Our leaders should be talking truth to the American people and the hell with the Global new world system. In my opinion the rich can afford to leave if necessary and live elsewhere very comfortably, juts like all the immigrants flooding our nation to get away from theirs. The rich will be living somewhere else and that's for sure.
So we Americans better wake up and soon. Going to hear or see it on the news. You will continue to get the same decisions you got for the last thirty or more years because these people have the same agenda, just a different approach. You cannot have dialogue until you have a diversity of opinion and perspective and you must include all classes that are long gone and something seriously lacking in the halls of "our" government.
Sadly rich people will never vote against that which takes away profit! Don't expect that from a capitalist or Globalist.
So we Americans must look at the real facts that until we make up our minds to win, to put our enemies on notice, to regain that strength that was America we will debate and discuss and we will continue in frustration.
Sadly it takes a realization and commitment to win. You don't win by espousing it and not applying your skill and resources to it. Just ask Ohio State that question. You win by desire, going all out and applying your skill and might to that goal.
Win the war and then rebuild "after" the victory like we did in Japan or get out and be prepared for war here.
