It may not be 3:00 a.m., but the phone is ringing.         

A lot depends on how YOU answer the call. . . No, you may not be the Commander-in-Chief or have just cinched your Party's nomination but YOU possess far greater power than just a single vote every two or four years!  And at this critical juncture in our history, that power can be used now to:

End endless war.  People of conscience recognize the senseless carnage in Iraq & Afghanistan and we DEMAND an end to rape, torture, murder and war!  Now!  Close down the military recruitment centers preying on our youth, seducing them to commit these atrocities.

Stop a catastrophic military strike on Iran. Condoleezza Rice calls dialogue with Iran "pointless" and Bush, Cheney and others ratchet up the rhetoric and lies in ways reminiscent of the build-up to the attack on Iraq.  Attacking a country that has not attacked your country is illegal and a war crime.  For the sake of humanity, for the sake of our planet, there must not be an unprovoked strike on Iran by the US or its allies.

Hold war criminals accountable.  John Yoo, a law professor at UC Berkeley, wrote the legal justification the Bush regime hides behind to torture.  Yoo must be fired from his job teaching Constitutional law, disbarred and prosecuted for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Be the CHANGE others are only hoping for.  The Bush regime has trampled the peoples' rights and civil liberties.  They can do much damage before Jan 2009, including attacking Iran.  And if there is not a massive repudiation of the Bush Regime program-war, torture, etc-the program will continue in significant ways whoever is elected.  The people must set terms in the interests of the people of the world, not allow terms to be set by the candidates who are vying for the position of chief executive of the U.S. empire.
